Science has a lot to tell us about adult sex. Not only can it help you find the most comfortable positions, but it can also tell us who has better sex in adulthood. Over the years, we’ve seen that older people are better in bed. But did you know your sense of smell can also play a role? Recent research suggests that your sense of smell could lead to better sex in adult hood. The better it is, the better your sex life as an adult is likely to be. So, how true is this, and does it apply to everyone?
Researching Adult Sex
Adult sex is a subject we scrutinize a lot. It fascinates us. I love learning about the science of adult sex, including why certain things turn people on. This is a fun subject to learn about, which is why there has been so much research on the subject over the years.
The Archives of Adult Sex recently published a study on smell and sniffing. To determine how these factors affect adult sex lives, the researchers surveyed several people on the subject.
I say “some” because it was only a small study. There were only 42 women and 28 men in the study. All 70 participants were said to be “young and healthy,” which narrowed down the type of people who participated in the study.
Conducting the Study
You may wonder how a test on this topic could be conducted. Participants were blindfolded and given “sticks” to identify. They were then assessed on their ability to correctly identify the scents they received.
Next, participants were asked questions about their sexual desires as adults. It covers everything from how much you want to have sex with an adult to your experiences. Did you enjoy sex with an adult? How often did you have sex with an adult? How many times did they orgasm? How would you rate your sexual performance in bed? Not to mention, questions about adult sex lives seemed to be much more detailed than questions about smell – perhaps because we could only ask a limited number of questions about scent.
